Timberline: Tree fell near tent

Timberline: Tree fell near tent
(Timberline part 12)
I have been totally convinced of the director in charge of all the timberline courses each year through all of the miracles that have been witnessed at the camps through the years. The Lord watches carefully over each camp and the following is the first event that I will share to prove that point. We have what is called an outpost experience each course where the boys leave their camp of the past few days and go out to practice what they have learned. They use a compass course to find the camp, then set up camp and spend the night. One year one of the patrols was placed near the top of a bare ridge near the only dead tree on the ridge. They had a great evening doing the activities that we had planned for them and the troop guide in charge of that patrol went out after staff activities and checked on them. They were all asleep in the tent and settled for the night. The next morning as the patrols returned and we got reports from the patrol leaders we discovered that one of the boys in that patrol on the ridge had awaken during the night and convinced his patrol to move their tent since he had a bad feeling about where they were set up. The other boys didn’t object and got up and quickly moved the tents. Well a little later in the night the tree fell and landed right where one of the tents had been placed, the tent in which the boy had been sleeping and awoke with the feeling that they needed to move. We were all very thankful that he had responded to the direction given him during the night and that the whole patrol had become close enough during the week to not question his feeling concerning their safety.
