The rest of the cement

After completing the splash pad we still had enough
cement to make a second step in the front of
the pavilion so children could step down easier.

Splash Pad Addition

The day started pretty early as Jeff came up to help us
complete the splash pad that we had started on Wednesday.
Scott came up with a design and then we
modified and did final layout with bricks.
We then later dug a hole and buried a plastic barrel to
collect water so we could pump it out onto the lawn
after we were done.
We had also cleared the proposed area and then
Jeff came up Thursday night and with Tia's help
laid out the forms and part of the pipes.

So here is where we started on Saturday morning.

Finished digging the remaining lines for water.

 Tamped the dirt down .

I had installed the drinking fountain also Wednesday
and the kids drank plenty from it since it was so hot .

The last of the sprinkler pipes are completed.

We brought in 2 yards of cement twice to lay the pad.
Here is an idea of what the first two yards accomplished.

Thank goodness Jeff is an experienced jack of all trades
including cement finishing.

Tia and I started putting out the next two yards
while Jeff was still finishing the first two.

Scott got involved as well and I was very glad he did
because I was starting to run out of energy.

Jeff then completed the valve installation.

And it was time to test drill the holes in the
caps and make the fountains.
Followed by pure torture for the children who we told
could not go on the cement yet as it was
not yet completely dry.

Thanks to the hot sunny day we were able to get
on it fairly fast and finish it. We still have one
last cap to design but basically ran out of time.
Here is the final product from today.
We still have to put in the pump and move the
dirt around it and plant some grass.

Thanks to Jeff, Brittany, Tia, Scott and Hallie
for all the help.
One more project well on it's way to completion.
