The pavilion, final post for the yard changes #8

After two years of watching weeds grow where cement was suppose to be and
having the holes for the footing sloughing in from the sides,
I decided I would not let it go through another winter that way.

Cement footings and pad are now done and in the spring it
will be time to add the cinder block storage shed and roof.

A little addition to the wishing well. Post #7

Next we took from the old equipment and toy idea and added an
old milking bucket to the well and then added flowers in it.

The west side additions post #6

On the west side of the drive way and the house we made a couple of small changes.
First adding the oldest wagon as a flower pot and then

adding a tree stump to the mix when Tia and Scott saw some chunks of a tree cut down
along the old highway and we decided to go get a few pieces.

One was put here and the other

by the quakies in the lawn.

We also added a number of solar lights to the yard area.

North, front, side of house. Post #5

We decided that since the trike wheel just kept coming off and the wheel was hard to peddle since it has no peddles that we could use it for decorating, so we sat a pot of flowers on the seat.

Then we added a little section of rocks around it.
(easier to mow with the riding mower.)

The old milk can was a suitable stand for another pot of flowers as well.

The we changed the mound out front since we had so many
volunteer quaking aspens growing from the old dead one's roots.

And later added a rock border to it also.
filling in the grassy area inside the rock border with mulch.

The playhouse update post #4

Here are the slight modifications to the playhouse exterior landscaping.

Tia's Mound post #3

Tia wanted to make a mound where we had put one years ago and had pretty much faded into the ground. So she and Scott went to work with rocks after I put a bunch of dirt there to work with.
I think it turned out really good.

I decided to cut the roses back again this year.
The mound felt really close to it until I cut it back.

Dressing up the flagpole area Post #2

Before the mound of rocks we just had the pole sticking out of the ground.
Then we added the washing machine.

And later the roses in the washing machine.

2013 Changes to Yard 1st Post East side of the house.

Thanks to Tia, Scott, Jeffrey and Brittany, Marie and I have seen a lot of good changes to the yard this past summer. Tia started a good part of it by wanting to make a mound again on the north west corner of the yard. That then led to many other changes.

The following several blogs will show these changes as I have recorded them into images this year.

This is the east side of the house. We started by outlining with rocks where we wanted mounds to be made to help channel irrigation water.

Then we started adding gravel left over from the surface well that we had dug.
(More on the well to come.)

Then the dirt was added.

And rocks and mulch topped them off.
Some flowers have been added recently by Jeffrey that will start to show next spring.

We still have grass to add to parts of it.
The grass area is just wide enough for the lawn mower to fit through.

These next two images show two rocks that were brought over from
Bishop Jone's place which he had left over.
The tailgate of Scott's truck will never be the same.

End of first post.
