A week without my Goiter

SO it has now been almost 1 week exactly since
Dr Riddle and his cut-throat staff did me a great service
by removing the Goiter that I have carried for over 23 years.
(The exact time I am not sure but it was before Signetics
shut down in Dec 1992.)

Anyway here is a little follow-up from the past week.

This is the dressing on the cut and the drain tube line that was
placed in my neck after surgery. This is what came home with me.

Fall continued to set some cold days so I didn't get outside very much.

The images were spectacular as usual however and my
phone is the only camera light enough for me to carry currently.

The work on the pavilion is completed for now as well since lifting
has been halted to anything over 10 lbs.

OK a few more images of the drain tube and
steri-strips covering the incision.
I actually went three days in a row to get the drain tube removed.
However on Monday my previous 24 hours of drainage had been
around 60cc. Then Tuesday it was still at 27 cc, and finally
Wednesday had been only 20cc.
So the nurse practitioner Jenile took it out.

SO Marie took these pictures while we were in the office
for final removal of the drain.
After the dressing was remover off of the incision.

After the drain tube was removed. That was an interesting
sensation as she removed the stitches hold it it place and then
proceeded to pul nearly 10 inches of coiled tubing from inside the
incision area. She showed us how they coil it up inside the surgical area
and how much is left in there. It explained a lot about how it felt while in there.

Jenile gave me a doctors note Tuesday that I then took into Mike.
I will return to work on Dec 8 and then not be able
to do lifting, bending or other stuff so I will actually be a
UDOT type supervisor and have to take a
shovel to lean on I guess until Dec 12st.
A final image of the area after we got home on Wednesday.
Marie wants me to keep the beard (of sorts) until I
have to shave it off when I return to work.
It is there since I couldn't shave that area before surgery.
It bothered me so much I finally took off some of it that I could
without pulling on the stitches.
