Our 39th Anniversary

For our 39th anniversary I decided to take Marie to Park City

the night before and then go into the Granddaddies for our Anniversary.

On the way from Park City over Wolf Creek Pass

 to the Grandview parking area we stopped several times to 

photograph the animals that we saw and other pretty areas. 

This is on the actual trail from Grandview to Hades Pass.

We just had to show we still have it in us at 60 years of age.

These were some of the views as we got closer to Granddaddy Lake..

Heart Lake is the first lake that we pass going toward Granddaddy Lake.

We stopped on the shore of Granddaddy for a picture.

We are headed toward Betsy.

This is where the water leaves Betsy.

A number of times while hiking we could hear

the woodpecker searching for lunch, but

only twice did we actually see them. 

After we had arrived back to the car at Grandview 

we stopped to photograph Splash Dam lake.

Two weeks earlier that was as far as a person could 

travel up the canyon due to snow drifts blocking the road.

It is a little over a mile from the Grandview Trail head parking lot.

This is the Stone Face that is above the road leading from 

Stockmore Ranger Station to Defa's Dude Ranch.

Defa's is where the road splits off to go up the mountain to

Grandview. I used to love to look for this old guy in my youth.

Someone since then has added a log to make it look like 

he has a smoke.
