Alpine's Live Nativity

We took everyone of the family in Utah County
with us to Alpine to their Live Nativity fund raiser.
We told them all to wear warm clothes because it was
going to be cold AND IT WAS.
Our scheduled time for the tickets was 7:30
and when we got there we joined the line that
went for nearly 100 yards up the hill to the farm
house and barns where the event was hosted.

We went past a couple of camels in a pen
and a donkey as well before actually entering the
area of the event.

And then at the gate we were met by a roman soldier
of which there ended up being many.

The new star hung over the barn where
Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus were located.

There were a couple of fire barrels
set around to warm us while standing in line
but it was colder for some reason after we left them

While at one barrel Sam was being kind and scraping
away lit ashes from the fire so they wouldn't burn
Cat's coat but when the lady turned and said
something he suddenly realized it wasn't mom.
Easy to see the mistake however.

We then got to pet another donkey and Llama
that were being held around the yard.

The line eventually led into a barn, past more
roman soldiers, where animals and various
shops were setup to depict the lifestyle of that day.
The camels seemed bigger in real life
than any of us had imagined.

There were even some long horned sheep.

Alex even got to feel some dough being made in one shop.

Then outside of the barn, on the way to the barn
where the nativity was set up, we stopped
to see the three wise men with their gifts.

Then into another barn and the live nativity with
only Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus.

Once outside again we were treated with
hot chocolate and a couple of fire poles
by which to stand and get warm before
heading back to the cars.

Ben was ready to go, he had forgotten gloves and was
pretty cold.
