Freedom Festival's Stadium of Fire.

July 2nd 2016
I spent almost the entire day at the stadium.
Started at 5:30 AM and left on the 3rd at 1:30 AM.
There was very little let up as we completed the
preparations for the Stadium of Fire.
And it was a packed house.

The fellow below must have thought I was
taking his picture but not so.
Marie, Tia, Scott, Brittany and Jeff
Ben, Cat, Gabe and Sam
Hayden, Cheyenne, Hallie, Leilah and Greyson
were all seated just up above him.
The night was perfect for a fire works show started
off with a Tim McGraw concert.

And very few people got to see the sunset.
I had to go open gates on the East side just
before the fireworks finale and so here was where I was
as the stared going off.
I cannot express the emotions that were running
through me as I witnessed the bombs bursting in air
right beside our flag.
(That morning as we raised the flag Steve Larsen
said "Wow, what A beautiful sight!" as
the gentle breeze slowly unfurled the folds in the flag.)
After the crowd had left two of my students
and I went into the visiting team locker
room to gather the chairs up and put them away.
Alex Boye was still in there with a number
of the choir singers. We had our picture taken with him.
Then after we left one of the students said to me.
"That was all worth it and I must admit
when you told us to go in there I really didn't want to
but I am sure glad I did."
The final shot I took was of the ice sculpture
of the Liberty Bell. It was beautiful.
