Fall Break with Marie in The Valley of Fire State Park Nevada-Fire Wave Trail

The Fire Wave Trail was a pretty good hike
as well only this time we came back up on the same
trail that we went to the Fire Wave on.

he mountains to the North looked like a
pretty good set of waves but that
wasn't where this trail went.

A beautiful model sitting out the wave.

The images here give you a feel for
how big this area really was.

A face of sorts.

These rocks were scattered all along one area of the trail.
It was hard to tell how they got there.

The rocks appear to be just a lot of layers of petrified sand.

Another image to portray the size of the area.

Notice the benches under this rock.
Not sure I would want to be sitting there in anearthquake.

This is the trail as it descends from
near the parking area.

In this picture are a mother and daughter that
were in front of us.
Can you find them?

We had to hold up a couple of rocks while
we passed under them.

The trail was hard to walk through.
A lot of sand.

Fall Break with Marie in The Valley of Fire State Park Nevada-White Dome Trail-more images

The trail exit went up a more gradual slope.
Some of these images were taken
on the way back to the parking lot.

There were some pretty
big rocks in the bottom.

Final trail to the road back to the parking area.

Fall Break with Marie in The Valley of Fire State Park Nevada-Elephant Rock

Entering the park.
Right at the pay station there is a trail that takes you to
elephant rock. There are some very interesting
shapes that give you an idea of what is coming
after you get into the park.

The funny part is that when you get to Elephant rock
you are back to the highway,
but of course there is no place to stop in a car there.
